Presence Sensor and Lighting Controller

I know that I ‘ve posted about a similar issue with Presence, but this is driving me up the wall as I still can’t get my lights to reliably work the way I want them.

I have a Presence Sensor in my family room and it’s connected to the Presence function block along with the touch switch. See Attachment #1

When I come into the room, the light comes on as expected. When I leave the room I can double-click the switch to turn the light off. However, presence remains active for the full TH value (currently set to 900s) so when I come back into the room, the light won’t come on.

It makes no difference if the Touch is assigned to the Presence function block or not.

So to work round this, I am triggering the reset on the Presence function when the light turns off. See Attachment #2.

However, the Presence Sensor sometimes (but not always) remains active. And if it remains active, then motion won’t trigger the Presence function block and the lights won’t come on. It makes no difference whether I use a trigger based on the light mood or use the RQ output from the Lighting Controller.

If I connect the Presence Sensor Motion and Volume inputs to the IAct and IExt inputs, then resetting it works consistently. But that then begs the question as to why you can assign the Presence sensor to the function block?

I can’t figure out what I’m missing here.

Cheers,

Ewan

I cannot get presence to reliably work either I have the same symptoms as you. I am using presence to control a lighting and audio block. The lighting seems to work when reset but the audio remains active.

Hi Ewan

If you appear to have an issue like this that behaves differently depending on whether the sensor is assigned within the block or not, and there is a means to replicate it, then please log a ticket with support in your country who can then investigate and if needed create a bug report for the software team.
