INFORMATION

With the new Loxone IR Control Air you can seamlessly integrate infrared devices into your Loxone Smart Home. For example your TV, and other cinema equipment, projectors, aircon units and more!

The Loxone IR Control Air is based on Loxone Air technology, so you can quickly and easily expand your system without wiring to an infrared device.

In addition to the internal IR transmitter and receiver, there is a port to connect an external IR receiver to so you can hide the IR Control Air if you wish to. Up to four external transmitter eyes can also be connected to the IR Control Air so you can then connect these to the devices.

SETUP IN LOXONE CONFIG

To put the IR Control Air in learn mode there are 2 different processes depending on whether this is the first pairing or not. Once in the learn mode the status LEDs will flash red-green-yellow.

First pairing:
When the IR Control Air is first powered up it will be in the learn mode automatically.

Re-pairing:
If you need to learn the IR Control Air again, for example with another Air Base, the learning mode can be started manually easily. To do this press the learn button for at least 5 seconds, this will put the IR Control Air back in the learn mode.

LEARN A REMOTE

To use commands from a remote control such as your TV remote you need to pair the remote with the IR Control Air. There are two ways to do this, either by adding in one of the predefined remotes, or by pairing your remote with the IR Control Air to learn the buttons of the remote in.

INSERT A TEMPLATE

In Loxone Config there are already some predefined remotes available as a template to add to the IR Control Air. In addition CCF files can be imported. To see the remotes, click on the remotes branch in the Periphery tree and then click on the Remote control button to select a remote from the drop down.

LEARN A NEW REMOTE

If there is no predefined template for your remote control you can create a new one manually.

To do this click on the IR Control Air in the Periphery tree. Then tick the “Start and display IR monitor” box and then click the Learn device button.

A popup window will appear with information about the process, make sure to read this carefully before confirming!

Loxone Air Remote New Learning

LoxonautPlease note the following when learning in the buttons of a remote control:

  • The remote control needs to be a short distance (a few centimeters) from the learning diode on the IR Control Air.
  • Make sure there is no interference, likely sources are; plasma screens, fluroscent tubes, televisions in standby mode.
  • The buttons on the remote must be pressed briefly, as some buttons will send different data if held down.
  • Some buttons do not send IR data.
  • Buttons may have differnet commands for a repeat press (use the toggle function here when creating a button).
  • When learning has finished turn of the learn mode by clicking the Learn device button again.

MAP IR COMMANDS

The buttons can now be assigned to the IR Control Air by dragging and dropping. You can decide whether the command is to be sent to a device or received from the remote control.

For example the Power button on the TV remote is a command that should be sent from the Miniserver to the device. To do this, hold and drag the Power button from the remote control into the IR Transmitter section under the IR Control Air in the Periphery tree.

This command can now be dragged on to the page to be used in your Configuration.

Since the IR Control Air has both an internal emitter diode as well as 4 ports for external transmitter diodes, you can select which transmittion channel the command is to be sent through in the properties of each button you have created.
