It is highly recommended to go through the intercom set up & configuration before to mounting it on the wall.
First power up the Loxone Intercom by connecting a network cable to the supplied PoE (Power over Ethernet) connector. Connect a cable from your network to the Data In port, a cable from Data & Power Out to the Loxone Intercom Input and then hook up the connector to the power supply.
The recommended installation height is 170cm to the top of the Intercom.
INTERCOM & INTERCOM XL CONFIGURATION
Once the Intercom is connected to the network and has been powered up, you are ready to add it in to your configuration and set it up. To get started, open the configuration software and connect to your Miniserver and ensure you have a identical confiuration to your Miniserver, by either selecting “Load From Miniserver”, or “Save in Miniserver”.
Now click on the “Peripheral Search” button to begin searching for other devices connected to the Miniserver and the Network.
Select the “network” tab at the top of the search window, where all Loxone compatible Network devices will now be listed. Select the Loxone Intercom from this list, and either add this to the configuration by clicking the plus icon, or click on “Configure” to change IP settings of the unit.
From the “Configuration” view, you can set the static address you would like the Intercom to be on.
Once you have typed in IP details to suit your network setup, click “Next” to set the external access details such as DNS address and login details for the intercom.
When configuring the Video Module, the DNS box will prefill with clouddns:8090, ready for setup with the free Loxone Cloud DNS service.
Finally, enter the username and password for the video module, which by default is set to ‘admin’ and ‘admin’.
When you click “Finish”, the new details will be sent to the Intercom, which will restart to apply the new settings.
Please note that the Video Module and SIP Module receive two separate IP Addresses.
Click on the Green Plus Icon [+] to add the Intercom to your configuration, and have a look at the periphery tree to see the Intercom listed.
You can select the intercom from the perophery tree to set the details the Miniserver should use to access the Intercom both locally and externally. If you have gone through the above steps to configure the Intercom before adding it, then these details should all be correct already.

Please note that the internal port of the Video Module cannot be changed! It is fixed to the default port 80.
For external access to the Audio, no port forwarding is required, but registry with a SIP service such as IPTel is essential.
You can now click on the intercom and drag it onto your configuration page to insert a preconfigured door controller for use with your intercom.
On the Intercom XL you can call up to 100 properties, each of which will require its own Door Controller function block, assigned to the same Intercom XL.

SETUP FOR EXTERNAL AUDIO CONNECTION
To enable an audio connection when connecting to the Miniserver remotely, from a mobile network or a Wifi network thta is not the same that the Loxone Intercom is installed on a SIP account has to be created. There are several providers for such accounts. One free provider is serweb.iptel.org.
Once an account has been created a few simple steps are required to complete the setup via the web interface of the SIP module.
To get to the web interface enter the IP address of the Loxone Intercom SIP module in your browser (default: http://192.168.1.98 with a password of: admin).
- At the bottom left next to the “Save” button click on advanced > Setting VoIP and finally on SIP at the top right.
- Set SIP registration to Yes.
- In the fields SIP Server und SIP Domain enter the IP Address or URL of your SIP Server. (for example “iptel.org”)
- In the field SIP user ID enter the extension number of the SIP module. When using iptel this is the username of your iptel account.
- In the field SIP authentication ID and SIP authentication PIN enter the username and password required for your SIP Server.
- In the field SIP user ID you can optionally set a name for the Extension.
As the Intercom has an integrated iButton reader, you can learn in iButtons and use these for access control.
To learn in iButtons:
- Click on the Intercom in the periphery tree, & select the 1-Wire device nested underneath this.
- Place your iButton on the reader, then tick the box names “Start & Display 1-Wire Monitor” & click 1-Wire device search on the top of your page.
- Select the new entry in the 1-wire monitor at the bottom of your screen.
- Enter a name for the iButton in the Description box.
- Select a user to assign the iButton to from the drop down list, and click “Assign to user”.
The iButton has now been added and assigned to a user successfully.
RESET TO FACTORY SETTINGS
Please note: Please connect the intercom directly to your PC/Laptop, as this will not work through a router.
Camera Module Reset
1. To reset the camera module set the DIP switch 1 on the camera module to OFF (normal state is switch 1 ON, switch 2 OFF). See picture below.
2. Now start the camera (disconnect and restart the power supply for a few seconds).
3. So that you can access the camera from your PC you have to give your PC an IPv4 address. See section Adjust Network Settings above. We suggest 10.10.10.50, with a subnet mask set to 255.0.0.0 and a blank gateway.
4. The camera module interface is now accessible via the IP address 10.10.10.10.
5. Through your web browser you will now be able to connect to the camera and reset the IP address. Please note that the IP address must be compatible with the subnet of your network.
6. Set DIP switch 1 to ON and then reboot the camera.
SIP Module reset
1. To reset the SIP module turn the side switch on the SIP module carefully. See image below.
2. After the SIP module has restarted you can bring the side switch back to the original position. The SIP module is now reachable under 192.168.1.98 so you can now reset the settings by going to the user interface.
VIDEO MODULE UPDATE
If you are using Firefox 27, you may see that in the webinterface only a still image of the video stream is shown. If this happens then you can do a firmware update to the video module on the Intercom that will solve this issue.
If you are using Google Chrome and are getting no image, a firmware update will also fix this.
STEP 1: DOWNLOAD FIRMWARE

After downloading extract the contents of the zip file to a folder of your choice. In Windows Explorer right click on the executable (.exe) file and click ‘Create Shortcut’ to your add a shortcut to your desktop.
STEP 2: SHORTCUT PROPERTIES
Now right click again on the desktop shortcut for the executable now and click on ‘Properties’.
STEP 3: CHANGE PROPERTIES
Click on the tab called ‘Shortcut’ and change the name of the target so that it includes the IP address of the video module at the end.
There must be a space before the IP address like this:
STEP 4: RUN THE PROGRAM
Once you have clicked on OK to confirm the changes in the previous step you can double click on the executable shortcut to run the program.
First run the Bootloader Update. Just press 1 (Fig. 1) and then 3 (Fig. 2).
Next run the Flash Image Update. Press 2 (Fig. 1) and then 3 (Fig. 2).
The firmware update will now have been applied. Press ‘x’ to complete the update process.
After the update the credentials are set back to username: admin, password: admin.
SIP MODULE UPDATE
The SIP Module update can be applied through its web interface. To do this, firstly ensure you have downloaded the firmware from this page.
Open any web browser and navigate to the IP address of the SIP Module & login using the default password, admin.
When on the web interface, enter the advanced options at the bottom of the page, and click on “Updates” section.
Select choose file & navigate to the location the firmware you downloaded at the start of this process. Select start upload, and the firmware will be automatically applied.
INTERNET EXPLORER TROUBLESHOOTING
From versions 6 onwards of Internet Explorer it is no longer possible to have username and password direct in the URL of the camera. This is however necesseary for automatic authentication for an updated camera image in the door controller.
Therefore in order to use the door controller block we recommend that you use another browser such as Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox. Please find the associated information from Microsoft here.
GOOGLE CHROME TROUBLESHOOTING
In the most recent versions of Google Chrome, the authentication process has changed, so you may see problems with the video stream being displayed when using the Loxone webinterface.
You can get round these issues by changing the target path in the properties of Google Chrome with a command.
STEP 1: CHROME PROPERTIES
Right click on the Chrome shortcut on your desktop and then click on ‘Properties’.
STEP 2: CHANGE PROPERTIES
Click on the tab called ‘Shortcut’ and change the name of the target so that it includes the command “–allow-cross-origin-auth-prompt” to the end of the path.
So the target path would now be (depends on where you installed Chrome):
C:\Program Files\Google\Chrome\Application\chrome.exe” –allow-cross-origin-auth-prompt
Click Apply, approve any administrator prompts and then click OK to save these changes.
