We want to share an incredible energy saving story at the Ponent Apartments in Mallorca. A place where they have successfully implemented the Loxone system to optimise their energy consumption and make it more efficient.

The lighting, ventilation and air conditioning of the different zones are controlled by Loxone. They work extremely efficiently and adapt to the presence of their users. As a result of these automations, the Ponent Apartments have achieved significant energy savings, proving that Loxone technology is a powerful tool for reducing energy consumption without reducing the comfort of guests.
In reference to the air conditioning system, it has two air conditioning machines, one for cooling and one for heating, both of which use water to provide comfort in both summer and winter.
An interesting feature of this system is a collector that distributes the water to important areas of the complex, such as the reception, restaurant, recreation room and gymnasium. Each of these areas has a recirculation pump, and this is where automation plays a major role.
Thanks to the implementation of the Loxone system, the recirculation pumps in the gym and the recreation room are now switched on and off based on presence detection. This is a big improvement compared to the previous year, when the pumps ran 24 hours a day throughout the season.
Each of these recirculation pumps consumes 0.25 Kw/h, and according to the consumption graphs, it is estimated that an average of 4 hours a day are used in these rooms. By doing the calculations, we can see that the savings are really impressive. The two 0.25 Kw/h pumps save a total of 2,480 Kw during the season, which equates to a saving of 568 € per season, or 284 € per pump. That's a huge saving!
But that's not all! The basement renovation is also a resounding success in terms of energy efficiency. Calculations show that the average monthly consumption is only about 70 Kw/h, and this includes all needs, from lighting to ventilation. Even with items such as the pool filtration motors (which would consume 510 Kw in a month), the savings are truly incredible.
To further increase the efficient use of the main functions, the pool's filtration and climate control have also been integrated with Loxone. Likewise, the lighting control, apart from achieving maximum efficiency, allows the creation of lighting ambiences adapted to each occasion and area.
