What is smart sauna control?
Smart sauna control automates the heating, ventilation and post-drying of your sauna and automatically switches off the heater when needed. LOXONE also connects lighting, shading and music with the sauna and lets you define in the App who is allowed to activate it. Observe your country’s safety and legal regulations during installation.
Which sensors does a smart sauna need?
A temperature and humidity sensor designed for values up to 120 °C. It measures directly in the sauna and supplies the values for automatically controlling the heater and fan.
Can I preheat the sauna remotely?
Yes. You start the sauna via the App before you get home. When you walk in, the target temperature has already been reached.
What happens if I forget to switch off the sauna?
The safety shutdown ends operation automatically. This happens regardless of whether you use the App or not – it always kicks in.
Can the sauna be combined with lighting and music?
Yes. You control the sauna, lighting, shading and music centrally via the LOXONE App. One scene starts the heater, lighting and music at the same time, instead of operating each function individually.
Does the sauna control also work without internet?
Yes. Heating, timers and the safety shutdown run locally on the Miniserver. Only remote access via the App requires an internet connection.
Can I lock sauna activation?
Yes. With App permissions, you restrict who can see and control the sauna. You can also set up a switch that blocks activation completely – regardless of whether someone is logged in to the App.
