Is LOXONE compatible with KNX or other systems?
Yes, LOXONE is a “jack-of-all-trades.”
While the Miniserver serves as the core of the system, the KNX Extension allows for the integration of up to 500 KNX group addresses. In addition, standards such as DALI, Modbus, EEBUS and BACnet are supported, enabling the selection of field devices regardless of manufacturer.
Is LOXONE a closed system?
No.
LOXONE relies on an open architecture. Third-party devices (such as PV inverters, audio systems, or heat pumps) can be easily integrated via a documented API and numerous interfaces. A key advantage: The system operates locally on the Miniserver – data sovereignty and functionality are guaranteed even without an internet connection (cloud-independent).

LOXONE provides ready-made tender documents (e.g., via ausschreiben.de) and actively supports compliance with the 2026 EPBD requirements (building automation as a mandatory requirement for energy efficiency classes).
