Challenge

The Spielbank Berlin at Potsdamer Platz is one of the most modern casinos in Germany. It’s not luck, however, that decides on the right lighting and the activation of the slot machines - it's Loxone.

The biggest challenge was that this project has grown enormously over time. Originally only the lighting was to be controlled, but this request expanded to include the shading and the slot machines. With a total of 4000 luminaires, it was important that each one remained individually controllable to create different zones that could be grouped and changed as required.

Solution

There is a Miniserver on each floor of the casino. The entire lighting system is intelligently controlled by Loxone - whether it's the stairwell lights, the indirect lighting or the playfully changing colours in the play area.
One of Loxone’s largest DALI integrations to date controls around 4000 light points in the casino, and provides constant high-quality lighting, especially in crucial areas such as checkout and the gaming tables. This enhances the comfort of both guests and staff in the ambience, and above all makes sure that the security cameras can accurately record the chip and money flow at all times.

In addition, to avoid a system overload, the 500 gaming machines with switch-on delay are also operated by the Loxone Miniserver and through the Loxone App on a tablet. This feature is password protected, so no one can turn off the slot machines by acciddent during operational hours.
