Challenge
The reconstruction of the Marcelka restaurant brought, alongside a new interior and kitchen, one key challenge: connecting a large number of technologies so that they worked together reliably while placing as little burden as possible on the staff.
The restaurant combines several types of heating and cooling, ventilation, extensive lighting, sound, audiovisual technology, and systems for monitoring and measuring energy. Each of these technologies has its own function, but in daily operation they must work as a single whole.
The challenge, therefore, was not simply installing the individual technologies, but above all ensuring their mutual communication, automation, and oversight. The goal was to create an environment where staff don't have to worry about the technical background and can focus on what matters most – the guests.

Solution
The solution was the LOXONE system, which connects and controls the individual technologies from a single place.
Heating and cooling automatically adapt to current conditions in the space. Ventilation responds to CO₂ levels and adjusts the amount of fresh air according to occupancy. When a combi steamer is switched on, the extraction is automatically activated as well. Thanks to the MPBus system from Belimo, individual valves can also be controlled precisely, and any communication issue can be detected immediately.
Lighting is automated as well. Coloured ceiling backlighting makes it possible to create different lighting atmospheres depending on the type of event, while outdoor lighting and advertising elements are controlled by time schedules or by sunrise and sunset.
A separate part is the lounge with professional audiovisual equipment. Turning on the microphone automatically activates the projection equipment, and a laptop can be connected wirelessly. Ambient sound rounds off the whole restaurant.
Energy monitoring is also an important part of the solution. Electricity, heat, and water meters make it possible to track consumption across the individual operations within the whole complex. A photovoltaic system is also connected, and the energy management can be expanded further. LOXONE also continuously monitors the cooling and freezing equipment. It tracks temperature and its development, and in the event of an unusual rise, it can alert staff in time. Such automation can prevent stock losses worth tens to hundreds of thousands of crowns. The same prevention principle is used for the heating valves, which are activated regularly during the summer months to prevent them from seizing up.
The result is a technical background that mostly runs behind the scenes. The system reacts to the current situation on its own, keeps an eye on operations, and alerts staff only when intervention is actually needed.

From the start, the goal was one simple rule: staff should serve the guests, not the technology. That's why we connected the individual systems so that as much as possible works automatically, leaving staff to deal only with situations that truly need their attention.
