Challenge

Special dishes deserve perfect lighting! To ensure that a visit to Glorious Bastards is not just a culinary highlight, a very special lighting concept has been installed here.

Solution

The lighting in the restaurant is mostly based on 24 volts. One of the challenges was to replace the existing 230V tubes in the retro lights with 24V solutions. Compact Dimmers and an RGBW LED Strip were installed in the connection area of the lights to enable a variety of colour changes. The result fits in perfectly with the industrial style of the restaurant.

In order to create a memorable atmosphere throughout Glorious Bastards, special attention was paid to the indirect lighting by installing LED Strips which are also controlled via Compact Dimmers (which were discreetly built into the skirting boards).

All lights are divided into individual lighting groups, each of which is controlled via its own Miniserver. The various lighting moods can be activated as required. A time setting of half an hour was selected for each change, as this ensures a smooth transition between the lighting moods. The guests hardly notice the change this way.

The staff also greatly benefit from the automated lighting at Glorious Bastards. For example, a brightness of 100% can be set for the daily cleaning of the restaurant, while dimmed light ensures a pleasant atmosphere in the afternoon. In the evening, the guests enjoy the lighting and music most appropriate for the occasion and time of day. There are various areas in the restaurant that can be cordoned off, for example, to celebrate a birthday. There is party lighting and party music there, while cosy lounge music plays in the other areas in harmony with pleasant, even lighting.
