Challenge
The main challenges were rising energy consumption, manual adjustment of building systems, and insufficient coordination between them. We needed to integrate existing equipment and security systems into a single, unified solution, reduce operating costs, and maintain comfort for both customers and employees.
Solution
With LOXONE, we have centralised the control of heating, cooling, ventilation and lighting. We have integrated the security alarm system (EZS), the uninterruptible power supply (UPS), the fire alarm system (EPS) and the central monitoring system (CZS), providing a centralised overview of their status.
We have automated the control of the skylights and their coordination with the rooftop systems. When outdoor temperatures are suitable, the shop is cooled by natural ventilation, thereby reducing the need for energy-intensive air conditioning. We have linked the air conditioning controls to the status of the windows to prevent unnecessary cooling when windows are open.
The solution includes the integration of a 100 kW photovoltaic system, monitoring of energy flows, consideration of spot electricity prices, daylight-dependent lighting control and monitoring of snow load on the roof.
When comparing the summer seasons of 2024 and 2025, the shop achieved an average monthly saving of 15 per cent, amounting to approximately €1,500 to €2,000.
