Challenge

Café Háječek is housed in a reconstructed gazebo with unique architecture, which makes it one of the most stylish cafes in České Budějovice. The owner managed to build on the years of the First Republic and restore the cafe tradition in the area. It’s now once again a popular meeting place near the historic centre of the city.



The building of the gazebo is listed in the monument catalogue, so the reconstruction had to be approached with respect. However, this didn’t prevent the addition of modern technologies, which are crucial for the operation of today's coffee shops. Suitable lighting, audio both inside and outside in the garden, shading elements, heating and cooling, ventilation... Integrating all these solutions allows the cafe to create a comfortable experience for guests and a pleasant environment for staff. This is also accomplished by Loxone's intelligent automation.

Solution

Loxone controls, for example, the awnings. Their flexible operation is especially important in a cafe surrounded by glass. The underfloor heating is also controlled according to the current need. A large chandelier in combination with LED strips creates a great atmosphere - the lighting stands out, especially in the evening after dark. The pleasant environment is complemented by an integrated audio system including speakers embedded in the ground in front of the cafe. The NFC Code Touch keyboard at the entrance not only lets employees in, but also records attendance.

Elimination of the human factor is key for us. The staff does not have to adjust almost anything manually, not even the heating, and therefore the operation is more efficient in terms of energy. For example, when closing, you always have to think about a lot of things, you must not forget to turn off the lights, turn off everything, close, lock... That's why the exit function is great: when one button is enough to put the entire cafe into off-hours mode.<br /><br /> <br /><br /> Special functions include heating gutters or steps at the main entrance for safety reasons. All this is still in one control system, not many single-purpose ones. The staff and the owner have an overview of the entire cafe thanks to a clear application with the possibility of remote access (for example, from vacation).
