Update: Music Server & Spotify

06/03/2022 in Technology

We have fixed the Spotify API issue, which was disabled by Spotify last week. In order to migrate to the newer API, we need to delete your existing Spotify credentials and favorites, which will force a re-login using the Spotify authentication mechanism. Sorry for the inconvenience, but this is the only way to get Spotify back on track with its Music Server changes.

This is how you proceed:

Download the following file and copy the downloaded .upd file to \\music.server.ip\updates.

To download the file, right-click on the button below and select “Save as”.

Additional Information:

The reason for the malfunction is a change made by Spotify to their legacy API. Since the current Spotify integration in the Loxone Music Server can no longer establish a connection to Spotify, it performs a security restart, which can end in a reboot loop. All other integrations such as Tune In work without problems.
