First of all, both systems are standalone solutions for the automation or control of technical systems in buildings of all kinds. Thanks to LOXONE KNX Extension it is possible to integrate KNX-compatible components into the LOXONE ecosystem, thereby cost-effectively implementing visualisation through an app as well as numerous automation and logic functions.

Access to smart home solutions that are available via the Cloud is often via a login on the manufacturer’s website. This login can become a central point of attack. In the LOXONE System there isn’t one central node or external point of attack, which can be cracked, since the registration on the Miniserver is done exclusively via the Miniserver itself – and this is located at the customer’s home or business and does not require an internet connection to fulfill its tasks.

Every LOXONE system is powered by the security mechanisms within the Miniservers, ongoing security updates and protected by general network security (in the hands of the user).

Our products and software tools are designed to operate reliably around the clock – throughout the entire lifespan of a building.

The Miniserver is the central control unit of every LOXONE installation. We have therefore paid particular attention to its resilience. As a result, the Miniserver operates entirely without moving parts, such as fans. In addition, it operates in an extremely energy-efficient manner, meaning that heat generation is not an issue. A failure of the Miniserver is therefore extremely unlikely.

Should individual sensors or actuators fail unexpectedly, this has no impact on the rest of the system.

A LOXONE installation works completely without an internet connection upon request. Only specific services – such as remote access via app – would be unavailable in that case. Consequently, an internet outage has no impact on the functionality of a LOXONE installation.

The big advantage: Everything is done simply via Plug&Play configured and works together perfectly. It simply is ready to go. No, LOXONE does not offer territorial protection.

We prioritise transparency and fairness in our Partner Program. Assigning one of four possible Partner status levels enables us to treat all Partners equally with complete transparency and offer tiered discounts and terms.

The answer is no, there is not a contract, however, we have Partner Guidelines which outline our principles for successful collaboration. By registering as a Partner, you confirm your adherence to these guidelines, which aim to ensure fair cooperation. Furthermore, we prioritise transparency in our Partner Program and treat everyone equally regarding Partner tiers and terms.

For a successful business, it is essential to always be at the forefront of this and stay up to date. LOXONE works with the best electricians, installers, etc., to offer customers only the best installation and the best experience. Therefore, it is important to us that our LOXONE Partners from Silver status onwards, once a year complete training – whether it is Foundation training, Focus training, or one of our focus workshops. To renew Partner status, at least one employee of the LOXONE Partner company must complete a training course once a year.
