Renovated coffee shop with intelligent automation

Inside every coffee shop, the setting is specially curated to feel inviting for guests. This stylish and unique coffee house, Coffee Shopa – situated in the picturesque village of Limbach in Slovakia – elevated its atmosphere with Loxone automation. Now, this inviting space draws even more attention and brings sophisticated intelligence to the forefront.

Owners Gabika and Zuzka had a very clear vision for the operation of their new property from the very beginning, especially facing the challenges from Covid-19. It was fundamental to them to create an environment that was inviting but also safe for visitors. Despite the shaky start to the coffee shop’s life – with a temporary shut down just three days after it’s grand opening due to Covid-19 – Gabika and Zuzka didn’t give up. They bounced back stronger, and smarter.

Renovation with Loxone – Wake up and smell the coffee!

The coffee shop was originally a local produce market. However, after that closed up, Gabika and Zuzka saw this opportunity to completely renovate the building. The architects really wanted to awaken the space with functionality and versatility in mind, blending the exterior and interior.

The ground floor welcomes visitors with a friendly and inviting seating area for customers. The top floor, a multi-functional space with movable furniture, even offers beautiful views of a local vineyard.

Functional space with lighting control

The lighting has more than meets the eyes. For example in the upstairs room, dimmable LED Strips allow multifunctional use of space for presentations, social events or even fitness classes. Lighting moods can be created on the fly in the Loxone App, giving the shop owners and employees different access rights and maximum flexibility in any area of the shop.

Exterior & security

After dark, the coffee house stands out beautifully with its automated interior lighting bursting out into its surroundings. Great emphasis was placed on the security of the building. Through the use of Presence Sensors, Door & Window Contacts, security cameras and even an emergency generator, Coffee Shopa now has a comprehensive, reliable security system.

Thoughts from our Loxone Partner on the intelligent climate control:

To ensure a pleasant temperature in the shop during the cold winter months, a gas boiler was chosen as the heat source, which heats the water for the underfloor heating system. The underfloor heating manifolds were fitted with actuators which are intelligent automated by Loxone, depending on the individual room temperature.

In the summer months, the building is cooled using four air conditioners units. Each zone to be controlled separately, but from one system, rather than having to adjust multiple air conditioning controllers. This means that these remotes are now gathering dust on a shelf somewhere.

The fully automatic ventilation mode is regulated by carbon dioxide sensors located on each floor. This guarantees an immediate supply of fresh air to the individual parts of the coffee shop, if necessary.“
