If you head over to the small town of Espinelves in Catalonia you’ll find a representation of a Loxone milestone – the 100,000th Loxone Smart Home.
10 years after our inception we are now extremely proud to announce that the 100,000th Loxone Smart Home has been completed. In the beginning, our founders Thomas and Martin set out with a clear goal in mind: to change the way we live in our homes. Now with 100,000 Loxone Smart Homes in the world, that vision is being realised every day.
Along the way, there have, of course, been several notable milestones – from the creation of the very first Miniserver, to releasing revolutionary technologies such as Loxone Tree in 2016 – which have had such a significant impact on the smart home market. However, to see all of the cogs of this big green machine come together and result in 100,000 Loxone Smart Homes is something that is truly amazing. We’re not ones to get complacent though and regardless of how proud we are of this achievement, the hard work will not stop – if anything this is just a motivating factor to step things up a gear.

Smart homes from Loxone are now available all over the world. We are particularly pleased that there are now 100,000 of them. The project in Spain was thus a matter close to the heart.
Of course, every Loxone Smart Home is special to us however as this picturesque Catalonian home happened to be project number 100,000 we thought it would be nice to take a closer look – to see what exactly is inside.
Optimum room climate
Ventilation systems, which are automatically deactivated when a window is opened, help to provide the bathrooms with good-quality air. As in many Loxone Smart Homes, the blinds also work automatically to help with room climates – in winter they help flood the rooms with natural sunlight to heat them and in summer they mitigate solar gains. Getting the perfect climate in each room is something that is fundamental to us – our holistic solution allows this family, and many others across the globe, to achieve this in a truly smart manner.
Operating modes
Operating modes are one of the many reasons living in a Loxone Smart Home is so simple. With just a few taps on a switch or a few presses in the Loxone App your whole home can be set into a specific mode. The owners of this home particularly enjoy ‘Away Mode’. The last person to leave the house simply activates the mode and the home knows what to do – close the garage door, activate the alarm system, set the blinds into automatic mode, switch the heating to economy mode and turn off the lights.
Another great example of operating modes working to benefit the family comes at night as they go to sleep. When the last person goes to bed they activate ‘Night Mode’ – this turns off all unused lights, stops any playing music and arms the alarm system. Should one of them need to visit the bathroom in the night, their path will be gently lit.
Multiroom Audio
Another stable of a Loxone Smart Home is the unique multimedia experience and this home follows suit with ceiling speakers integrated throughout. As always, music will be automatically played when a member of the family enters a room – depending on the time of day and, of course, the type of room. We believe your home should work around you and require minimal intervention however, should any adjustments need to be made to the music ie volume up, next track etc. – the family can do so simply and quickly thanks to our intuitive switch standard.
