Wellness Loft

The residents of this 1930s' home, in the middle of upscale Belgian Park, were looking for an oasis of calm to retreat from their close-knit and busy lives. But, also from the hustle and bustle that young family life can bring. During the home's gutting, the original beams supporting the roof became visible, and the residents decided they wanted this element as a central feature in their loft-style floor.

By opening the sliding door one floor down, the stairs light up and you are taken upstairs to an oasis of peace and space. Arriving at the top, you will immediately be drawn to the height and sturdy support structure of the roof. And, notice the abundance of natural light. The amount of windows gives a feeling of spaciousness during the day, but at night the illuminated pleated windows create a soothing and intimate atmosphere.



Looking ahead, you will find an inviting bed and as soon as you take your first steps, you will see the eye-catcher of the room: the freestanding white Corian bathtub that will pull you completely out of reality for a moment. This is enhanced by the matching music that can be heard softly in the background as you take those first steps.



There is a divider in the room, which conceals a toilet and behind which the rain shower is neatly placed out of sight. Furthermore, a multitude of built-in closets ensure that this room has plenty of closet and storage space despite the sloping sides of the roof. Heat resistant screens for all windows, a fully integrated air conditioning system in conjunction with the floor heating and proper ventilation ensure an optimal indoor climate in this loft.
