Challenge

Wildflowers is a new-build property in Surrey, where the requirement was to deliver a complete, intelligently controlled new build home from the outset. The project called for a fully integrated approach, covering the LOXONE home automation system design, electrical design, UniFi network design, installation, and commissioning.

The homeowners required a control solution capable of managing a wide range of building functions through one central platform. This included lighting, heating, cooling, shading, access, energy monitoring, irrigation, EV charging, and security-related integrations.

As a new build, the property also needed a robust and future-ready infrastructure, ensuring the home could support both the immediate requirements and any future expansion without unnecessary disruption.

Solution

LOXONE forms the intelligent backbone of Wildflowers, bringing together the property’s key systems into one coordinated and easy-to-use platform.

A comprehensive, intuitive LOXONE system has been designed, installed, and commissioned to manage the home’s lighting, presence detection, audio, access control, energy monitoring, heating, cooling, shading, and automation functions. This ensures the property operates efficiently while delivering a high level of comfort and convenience for the homeowners.

The lighting concept is extensive, with RGBW Tree ceiling spots, RGBW ceiling lights, dimming control, Touch Tree switches, Touch Air controls, and Presence Sensors installed throughout the property. This allows lighting to be automated, intuitive, and adaptable to different times of day, room usage, and homeowner preferences.

Comfort is further enhanced through the integration of the wet underfloor heating system, controlled via LOXONE Valve Actuators, alongside Mitsubishi air conditioning using LOXONE AC Control Air. The Mitsubishi MelcoBEMS Mini interface also allows the heat pump to be integrated, giving the home a joined-up approach to heating and cooling management.

The property’s internal curtains, blinds, external shutters, and Velux windows are also integrated into the system, allowing shading and ventilation to work intelligently alongside weather data from the LOXONE Weather Station Tree.

Energy management has been built into the installation, with a LOXONE Wallbox EV charger and 3-phase energy meters monitoring key areas such as the solar and battery system. This gives the homeowners greater visibility over energy generation, consumption, and electric vehicle charging.

The home also includes intelligent control of irrigation, garage door operation, water leak detection, door and window monitoring, and access via NFC Code Touch and LOXONE Intercoms. UniFi ANPR has also been adapted to work with the electric gates, supporting a more automated and convenient arrival experience.

The result is a highly integrated new-build home where multiple technologies - including heating, cooling, access, shading, energy, and security - are brought together through LOXONE. Wildflowers benefits from a discreet yet powerful automation infrastructure, delivering comfort, efficiency, convenience, and long-term flexibility.
