The customer requirement was to maximize self-consumption of solar power and sell as little surplus energy as possible to the energy plant. The existing KNX automation was to be retained, while the energy management was to be visualized on the KNX server.



A central solution was particularly important to the customer: an app that clearly combines all functions and enables simple control. This concept combines efficiency, user-friendliness and the seamless integration of existing systems.

The optimal solution for this project was to implement the energy management with Loxone. Thanks to the open Modbus TCP protocols and the integration into the KNX system, this solution was successfully implemented. The Alpha Inotec heating system is now controlled via Modbus TCP, as are the three heating inserts, which work with prioritized switching and priority control.



A separate Modbus table was created for the inverters and the battery storage system, which enables us to both read out data and send commands. This means that the battery storage system can now be fully controlled.

The pool heating control system was also converted to the Loxone system in collaboration with the pool builder. The customer can now conveniently control, regulate and monitor everything via an app - a central solution that offers both convenience and efficiency.
