Challenge
The main concern was to remotely control a deep well submersible water pump for crop irrigation on a local farm, eliminating the need for the farmer to travel long distances for basic and advanced controls.
Solution
We chose the Loxone Miniserver as the main PLC, as it provides a wide range of features to implement. It gave us the ability to integrate all water pump controls, such as start and stop functions, and to create custom programs to automatically irrigate different sections of the field. It also enables PID loop control for stable water pressure throughout the season, monitoring of the current system state and alarms in case of power outages, VFD trips, completion of the watering schedule and more.
