Upper station at Pustevny

Challenge

Pustevné, one of the busiest tourist spots in the Beskydy Mountains and the whole of the Czech Republic, has a cable car. At its upper station, tourists can have refreshments in a restaurant or pick up a souvenir. During the major renovation completed in 2017, efficient and easy operation of the station was also thought of, which thus received intelligent functions from Loxone.

Solution

The station building, including the restaurant, is heated by electric underfloor heating, which works fully automatically and maintains the set comfort temperature.

In the tablet, the workers can turn the lighting on and off. The outdoor light and the illuminated advertising banner on the gable of the building are then automatically controlled, when they are switched on only in the evening hours at dusk, when it makes sense. Conversely, the passageway in the station is automatically lit only during the day.

Loxone also manages the safety function in the upper station at Pustevny. The occurrence of a fire is monitored by smoke sensors that are smartly connected to the recovery system. If the sensors detect smoke, the recuperation is immediately switched off, preventing the spread of toxic fumes. At the same time, the system ensures the opening of fire doors and immediately reports a critical situation with a notification.

The object is also protected against burglary. Loxone ensures the transmission of intrusion information from an existing alarm.

The restaurant staff has a tablet at their disposal where they can adjust the temperature. But only within the limits of two to three degrees, which prevents detuning and inefficient heating behavior.
