Stonehouse Farm

Challenge

The requirements of the developer when specifying the control solution for the home was to have intuitive, flexible lighting controls for day time, evening and night mode. Plus, to provide less onus and worry on the owners heating should be automated.

The property has future proof wiring in order to fulfil the new owners requirements once the property is purchased and/or leaving room for future expansion of the system.

Solution

Loxone delivers the intelligent backbone of this home, ensuring every system operates in harmony with the building’s energy-efficient principles. Inspired by Passive House standards.

A comprehensive automated lighting concept has been implemented across the interior, exterior, and summer house, creating consistency, comfort, and atmosphere throughout the entire property.

Heating is controlled via an integrated heat pump system, which includes Valve Actuators, maintaining precise temperature regulation while supporting the home’s low-energy design.

Energy performance is further enhanced through the monitoring of solar panel temperatures, using sensors positioned beneath the panels alongside external temperature readings. This data enables accurate performance oversight and long-term optimisation. The MVHR system is also intelligently monitored, allowing Loxone to dynamically adjust airflow draw between the North and South sides of the property to maximise efficiency and indoor comfort.

The home has also been strategically pre-wired for future expansion, including multiroom audio, internal blinds, and an intercom. This ensures the property is not only highly efficient today but fully prepared for seamless upgrades as requirements evolve.

The result is a technically advanced yet discreetly managed home - where sustainable design, intelligent control, and future-ready infrastructure work together to deliver long-term performance and comfort.
