suburban villa in Cologne

The villa on the outskirts of Cologne was designed to combine maximum living comfort with modern energy efficiency and discreet security. Large windows led to excessive heat gain in the summer and increased heat loss in the winter. At the same time, the owners desired intuitive controls for lighting, shading, climate, access, and outdoor areas, without compromising the clean lines of the architecture and high-quality interior with visible technology.

The project was implemented using a central LOXONE building automation system that intelligently networks lighting, shading, heating and cooling technology, and access control. Automated shading and climate strategies ensure comfortable temperatures year-round and efficiently utilize solar gains. Presence-based lighting control, scenes for living and outdoor areas, and an integrated access solution enhance comfort and security.
