Challenge
The company used photovoltaics and battery storage, but the energy system was not fully optimized.
Solution
Solex Agro has implemented an energy management system that connects photovoltaics, battery storage and Loxone automation into a single functional unit.
A key element of the solution is the use of freezers as a natural storage medium.
The system monitors spot electricity prices in real time and controls operations accordingly:
– at low prices, intensive subcooling occurs
– at high prices, consumption is limited and accumulated cold is used.
The solution also includes:
– management of 15-minute maximums
– prevention of exceeding the reserved power consumption
– optimization of operations with regard to future legislation
The solution was designed and implemented in cooperation with ADS Energy.
The result is maximum use of own and purchased energy and long-term stabilization of costs.
