Smart holiday home in the Harz, Eastside-Braunlage

We have built a holiday property with 5 residential units in the Harz Mountains. A total of 6 Miniservers have been installed and linked to each other via Network intercommunication. The challenge was to create the right access solution for the central house entrance and the apartments. It's also important to know who is entering the building: it could be cleaners, guests, or tradespeople.

For example, for the cleaner, bright lighting should be switched on everywhere. A guest should receive a welcome text the first time they enter.

In addition, when the cleaner enters an apartment, the house should reset to its original state. This enables every guest to experience Loxone during their holiday and fall in love with it. Furthermore, the sound of the Brockenbahn should be played back via the doorbell. It should also be easy to expand the access solution in the future. Next year, a small building is planned for construction in front of the house for skis and bicycles. Also here will be a Trabant bucket in a glass case that will be illuminated with LED stripes. This is an important eye-catching feature for Eastside-Braunlage and Loxone.

The solution was six Miniservers! They all exchange data via Loxone's network intercommunication. The central Miniserver is responsible for centralised tasks such as the PV system with storage and heating elements, central access, outdoor lighting, irrigation, etc. Furthermore, each apartment has its own Miniserver which is responsible for controlling that individual apartments. We have installed NFC Code Touch Trees at the entrance of the main house and the apartments, as well as the technical room. This makes access straightforward. Each guest gets an NFC fob that allows access to the dedicated areas. Cleaners can enter every room, while tradespeople have access to the technical room and the apartments when necessary and not occupied via their NFC fobs. Furthermore, cables are laid already for the planned building which will be in front of the main house. This means flexible expansion of every already installed feature will be guaranteed when the work starts.
