Smart, accessible living space

Smart, accessible living space

Challenge

Following an accident, a young girl now lives with a disability. The goal was to create a wheelchair-accessible extension that would make daily life easier and foster the greatest possible degree of independence. In addition to meeting structural requirements, the building automation system was designed to support the resident in her daily routine and ensure ease of use.

Solution

A fully wheelchair-accessible extension was built in collaboration with the Paraplegia Center. LOXONE manages access, lighting, shading, and climate control. Doors can be conveniently operated via NFC, code, app, remote control, or voice command, thereby enabling a high degree of independence in daily life.

This project was something special for us. Together with everyone involved, we were able to create a solution that makes the family’s daily life easier and meaningfully combines modern technology with accessibility. We are all the more pleased that we could contribute—or rather sponsor—part of the smart home system, specifically the Miniserver.
