Challenge
The aim of this smart farm in Bavaria was to create a modern IT infrastructure. Energy and heating were a particularly important topic, as this project includes four heat pumps, a CHP unit, a wood chip boiler, a hay drying system and an internal local heating network.
Other components of the farm include 2 PV systems and a battery storage system. The main building was retrofitted using Loxone and the two other holiday flats have full smart home equipment. These include a sauna and a pool with a paddling pool for children. Particular attention was paid to the exterior lighting of the courtyard, and therefore also to the presentation of the building.

Solution
A total of 6 Miniservers were installed, which interact perfectly with a further 400 Loxone components. A centralised energy management system for heating and electricity is also controlled and monitored using Loxone. Another highlight is the specially developed control parameters for the sauna and pool. The outdoor courtyard lighting was realised using several dimmer extensions and specially converted lanterns.
Loxone offers us incredible flexibility, which makes it superior to many other systems such as KNX.
