D.Orione Sanctuary Tortona
- Country IT, Tortona
- Build year 1931
- LOXONE partner Emporio Impianti s.n.c.

Challenge
The project involved the lighting of the sanctuary of the Madonna della Guardia of Tortona, including the 60 meter high golden statue of the Madonna, and involved the creation of eight adaptable lighting scenarios for the church and one specific for the tower. We also had to manage entrances through a turnstile, monitoring the flow of people and blocking access when necessary to ensure safety inside the tower. To optimize energy consumption, the system had to activate the lights when the first person entered and turn them off when the last person left. Furthermore, safety buttons were installed to unlock the turnstile and emergency exits in critical situations.
Solution
The problem was easily solved thanks to the use of the Loxone Gen 1 system, the only one available at the time. We interfaced around 200 DALI lighting fixtures for lighting, while for the management of the tower we used digital inputs and outputs with Loxone logic.
We opted for Loxone for its ease of use and reliability, which proved fundamental in effectively solving the needs of the project.
