Challenge
The client wanted to automate heating in the guesthouse based on reservations, without the need for staff intervention. The challenge was integrating with the reservation system and enabling autonomous control based on guest arrivals. Additionally, the client required simple audio control in the wellness area, energy consumption monitoring, and energy-efficient lighting in common areas triggered by motion.
Solution
The challenge was to ensure that heating in the apartments operates efficiently and only when truly needed. The solution involved retrieving data via API from the reservation system and combining it with information about the physical presence of guests—using motion sensors or access control systems, for example.
Based on this data, the system automatically evaluates whether an apartment is occupied and accordingly turns the gas boiler on or off. This approach significantly reduces energy consumption and operational costs, while still providing full comfort for guests—without requiring any staff intervention.
The solution was built using Loxone, thanks to its easy integration with external systems, extensive automation capabilities, and flexibility for future expansion. A major advantage was the full technical support from Loxone’s Slovak branch, which greatly simplified both implementation and ongoing optimization of the system.
