Challenge
A well-known leather goods manufacturer in the Vicenza area was faced with multiple operational challenges that required an integrated and scalable solution. The company needed to improve the safety of the raw materials area, optimize climate control in different departments and efficiently manage staff access. Furthermore, there was a need to reduce energy consumption and make the most of the energy produced by their existing photovoltaic system. The complexity stemmed from the need to integrate these different aspects into a single coherent system, capable of evolving over time to meet the constantly changing needs of the company.
Solution
To address these challenges, we implemented an electrical system revamping project in three distinct phases, demonstrating the flexibility and scalability of the solutions.
In the first phase, we installed an attendance monitoring system, focusing on protecting the raw materials area using an electric lock. This laid the foundations for more effective and safe control of the working environment.
The second phase saw the implementation of advanced thermoregulation which involved the control of five distinct departments. We have updated the existing air delivery machines and integrated all the delivery pumps. A key element was the optimization of the heat pump to exploit the excess energy produced by the photovoltaic system. This intervention led to a notable improvement in environmental comfort, a significant reduction in energy consumption and allowed effective monitoring of system anomalies.
In the last phase, we have implemented an advanced access control system based on NFC technology. This solution manages approximately 50 users, offering personalized access levels for the various departments of the facility, significantly improving the security of the plant.
The end result is an integrated home automation system that has transformed leather goods operations. Starting from simple monitoring, we have arrived at a complete solution that integrates advanced energy management and sophisticated access control. This gradual approach has allowed the company to adapt to new technologies, creating a more efficient, comfortable and safe working environment, while optimizing energy consumption and improving the overall safety of the facility.
