We were invited to simplify the control of the artist LED café extension to the gallery and to come up with innovative solutions to lighting the building inside and out. Monitor and record building environment and provide scalability options to be rolled out across the existing buildings.

Loxone was the primary solution to controlling the lighting, heating, ventilation cooling and fun! Given the delicate nature of the internal acoustic ceiling, LED strip was used for primary lighting with a mix of WW and RGBW runs, therefore standard control was not a viable option. We also had to integrate heating, hot water and plant control which runs seamlessly in the background with minimal user input. The roof openings have been automated to open on temperature to maintain a comfortable dining environment.

Programming elements have been added to make the exterior dome shimmer to add to the marine inspiration for the design along with an active hourly clock inside using the domes 12 support pillars.



The benefits of automation is the ready wealth of data at your fingertips. Loxone has always retained the metrics within its own hardware (not the cloud) for an array of sensors, ready for you to recall and evaluate. Now with Exosphere this data can be called up, formatted and displayed for easy viewing. For this project, which is part of the National Gallery of Wales exhibits partners, this data is required at the central Gallery in Cardiff. They can now view the necessary data for the exhibit rooms on one simple screen, or quickly recall the data periods required.
