Nairobi Retrofit: Wainaina's Residence

Client had an old amplifier system that occupied a full 12U rack. The challenge was to eliminate the numerous amplifiers, the rack, and the outdated passive speakers. At times, he had to go to the server room just to check whether the amplifiers were on or off. The lights were connected to KNX, but he wanted a solution that would be easier to operate for himself and his family – ideally something that would allow him to create simple rules without always needing a professional.

We integrated KNX into Loxone and enabled control over the gate, lights, water fountain, and blinds. The old passive speakers were replaced with Master/Client speakers, and the many amplifiers were replaced by a Miniserver Compact for audio.
