Challenge
The owner originally controlled the lights or heating with a different system and applications. But, for example, the autonomous LED lights switched by movement immediately started to shine, which was annoying. Frequent upgrades also caused problems, and poor compatibility of components from different manufacturers caused the system to malfunction.
Solution
So, two years after moving in, it was Loxone's turn. The partner used Loxone Air technology for the existing wiring. The Miniserver gradually took over lighting, underfloor heating and radiators. Automation takes care of watering the lawn and refilling the retention tank. Loxone automatically reduces the charging power of the Wallbox for the electric car according to the current consumption of the house and the status of the mass remote control (HDO). Subsequently, a PV plant with battery storage was also integrated into the system. Smart consumption management ensures the greatest possible use of energy from photovoltaics. For example, the tank is filled only in case of surpluses, the charging of the electric car is dynamically reduced and increased according to the current PV power.
The Loxone Miniserver is connected to the Paradox security system, control of entrance doors and rolling gates. Furthermore, with a heat pump and DHW circulation pumps controlled based on movement in the bathroom. Loxone also created a logic for reheating the hot water boiler to optimize the water temperature according to the daily cycle of the household. The ventilation is also controlled automatically based on the measured CO2 values and the blinds in the house. In addition, the owner praises the unlimited warranty on the lights.
