A laundromat is a business that operates without staff. The real challenge is to automate everything so that it runs smoothly and efficiently. This includes 24/7 access management, presence-activated lighting to avoid waste, intrusion detection outside of opening hours—and above all, combating squatting: people who set up shop, occupy the premises without buying anything, and discourage legitimate customers.
Solution
Thanks to Loxone, the laundromat operates completely autonomously. Access opens and closes automatically according to a schedule—no intervention required. The lighting reacts to actual occupancy: on when needed, off as soon as it's empty. The alarm arms itself at closing time and protects the site all night.
For squatting, Loxone manages this without human intervention: as soon as a presence is detected outside of normal usage patterns, scenarios are automatically triggered—light signals, audible messages, changes in ambiance—to encourage people to leave. Efficient, discreet, and conflict-free.
