Challenge
The project involved a multi-building site comprising five buildings with heterogeneous architectures and HVAC equipment.
Two buildings were equipped with high-capacity Mitsubishi direct expansion heat pumps, while three other buildings were to be equipped with five high-capacity LG direct expansion heat pumps. Three air handling units (AHUs) were replaced and their circuits renovated.
The main challenges were to:
Integrate multi-brand and multi-system HVAC systems within a centralized building management system (BMS),
Design a multi-purpose architecture that is scalable, flexible, and interoperable,
Implement an energy management system enabling the monitoring, analysis, and optimization of energy consumption,
Ensure intelligent control of interior and exterior lighting, consistent with the site's energy performance and operational objectives.
The entire system had to guarantee unified supervision, simplified operation, and the capacity for future upgrades without requiring a complete overhaul of the existing architecture.

Solution
Our Loxone solution is based on a unified BMS architecture, offering a simple, robust, and scalable approach for all site uses.
A backbone IP network has been deployed across the entire site to ensure reliable and centralized communication between buildings and technical equipment. This infrastructure forms the backbone of the BMS and guarantees long-term scalability.
The integration of multi-brand HVAC equipment (Mitsubishi and LG heat pumps, air handling units) was achieved via industrial gateways, enabling standardized communication and consistent monitoring.
Existing third-party lighting controllers have also been integrated into the BMS, ensuring comprehensive control of interior and exterior lighting without requiring any changes to the existing installation.
The architecture covers all building management system (BMS) and energy management functions (integrating all Socomec meters via Modbus RTU), including consumption monitoring by use and building, as well as optimization and operational functions.
Thanks to Loxone's all-in-one approach and structured engineering, the solution enabled rapid implementation, efficient commissioning, and simplified operation for the building manager.
