Challenge
For the new headquarters of mylife Diabetes Care AG in Burgdorf, the entire lighting control system had to be implemented within a very short timeframe. The biggest technical challenge was the integration and central consolidation of three separate KNX systems and an extensive DALI system onto a single platform. Furthermore, the existing Griesser blind control system and the AV technology had to be seamlessly integrated to ensure consistent operation across all six floors.
Solution
WEST Solution AG implemented the complete lighting control system, including engineering and technical construction management. 150 KNX sensors, 55 KNX actuators, and 290 DALI groups were centrally networked and visualized via the LOXONE Miniserver. The blinds and multimedia system were also integrated directly into the LOXONE system via KNX. LOXONE serves as the overarching control system, unifying the complex subsystems across two buildings and six floors in a single, intuitive interface.
LOXONE was ideal for this project because it bridges the gap between KNX, DALI, and third-party systems like Griesser or AV technology. Especially when integrating multiple KNX systems, LOXONE enables a clear structure, rapid commissioning, and a uniform, modern user interface for users across all floors.
