Fully Renovated Smart Home

Our client was having their 3-bedroom house completely renovated and extended into a modern 4-bedroom family home. Being a family of 5, with 3 children of varying ages, they wanted a home full of creature comforts, that is efficient, and would allow every member of the family to have their own personal space.



The two key points for the family in their Loxone install, was access control and multi-room audio.



Access control - As their two eldest children now take themselves home from school, they needed to be able to get into their house by themselves and disarm the intruder alarm. Plus, the parents wanted to know when they were home.

Multi-room Audio - With every member of the house having their own taste in music, a big selling point of Loxone audio was the fact that you have the ability to lock different music in different rooms. Plus they liked the feature that you can block certain rooms playing music at certain times (like at bedtime).

The Loxone installation addressed the family's needs from their smart home, especially for their key points of access and audio. This was done via an NFC keypad, so that the kids could now have a fob to grant them access to their home that unlocks the door, disarms the alarm, and send a notification to the parent's phones. Plus, their in-ceiling speakers fulfilled all of their audio needs.



After this, the project expanded to include lighting, security, heating control and ventilation control.



The house is made up of the usual smart home features but also has some more unique personalised ones for the busy family. These are:



- In the evening the landing and bathroom lights come on automatically through motion to a dimmed orange colour, this prevents waking the children up if they need to use the bathroom in the night.



- Audible announcements can be made on the speakers to call the children for dinner.



- Lights and music can be locked in certain bedrooms at night when the kids are meant to be sleeping.



- Their youngest is not allowed out of bed until a certain time in the morning, but as she can't read the time yet, she knows when to get up based on whether the backlight is on on her Touch Pure.
