Challenge
Since Figoletta is a temporary pop-up restaurant, it quickly became clear that flexibility and rapid implementation were paramount. Rewiring the existing lights wasn't possible, so Loxone Air technology was chosen to implement a powerful, wireless control system. The goal was to create an automated lighting concept that would seamlessly integrate into the restaurant's day-to-day operations, coordinated with cleaning, daytime operations, and evening ambiance—all without traditional cabling. At the same time, it was necessary to integrate a third-party system for door monitoring and secure the refrigeration technology.
Solution
Lighting:
The entire lighting control system is based on Loxone Air components and is configured to be activated with a simple key switch:
> Early in the morning, the cleaning mood starts automatically as soon as the premises are entered.
> Shortly before opening, the system switches to the daytime mood, which can be adjusted by the customer at any time.
> The evening mood is dynamically based on sunset; this can be manually shifted by the customer by ±60 minutes.
> The nighttime mood takes effect at 9:00 p.m. by default. If sunset occurs after 8:00 p.m. (e.g., 8:30 p.m.), it is automatically activated one hour later—in this case, at 9:30 p.m. This ensures a harmonious lighting atmosphere at all times.
Door monitoring:
The cellar doors are equipped with a third-party system provided by the customer. This was integrated into the Loxone system using potential-free inputs.
> When opened, the door can be held open by a door holding magnet; the time period is individually configurable.
> If the door is not closed in time, an alarm is triggered and sent to the restaurant manager via push notification.
> If the door is opened without authorization, an alarm is triggered immediately. A manual reset is required to reset the alarm.
Cold storage monitoring:
Cold storage and freezer rooms are continuously monitored.
> If the target temperature is exceeded by more than one hour, an initial push notification is sent.
> As long as the temperature does not return to the target range, a further notification is sent hourly.
> All temperature values are continuously recorded for traceability and HACCP documentation.
