Challenge
The objective of the project in the Pelaioenea building in Usurbil was to implement a smart air conditioning system with Loxone, capable of efficiently managing heating, cooling, and ventilation with heat recovery, using real-time data on temperature, humidity, and CO₂ to ensure user comfort, optimize energy consumption, and maintain excellent indoor air quality.
Solution
🌿 Pelaioenea Public Building in Usurbil: Smart and Sustainable HVAC
In the Pelaioenea public building in Usurbil, we implemented a complete HVAC integration with Loxone, with the goal of achieving a comfortable, healthy, and energy-efficient interior environment, adapted to the diverse uses of each floor.
🌡️ Comprehensive HVAC with Aerothermal Energy
The system centrally manages two Panasonic aerothermal energy systems, responsible for both heating and cooling the building. Direct communication with the units optimizes their operation, ensuring efficient consumption without sacrificing comfort.
🌬️ Ventilation with Heat Recovery
The installation includes a heat recovery unit with a post-treatment coil, whose fan system is regulated by analog signals generated by the Loxone Analog Output Extension. In addition, the pumps for each post-treatment battery are independently controlled by the Miniserver Compact relay outputs, providing complete and efficient control.
🏢 Differentiated Use by Floor
The building has two clearly differentiated areas:
🏢 Ground floor, used for offices with more constant and predictable use.
🏢 First floor, designed as a multipurpose space for meetings, public events, exhibitions, and various activities.
To ensure comfort on both floors, Touch Pure thermostats have been installed that monitor temperature, humidity, and CO₂ on each level. Using this data, the system can automatically adjust ventilation, heating, or cooling, increasing the flow of fresh air and climate control when increased occupancy is detected for events.
