Challenge

The project's goal was to create a modern and energy-efficient single-family home, in which all key technical installations work together within a single, coherent management system. Loxone-based automation integrates the electrical system, lighting, heating, mechanical ventilation with heat recovery, as well as access to the home, the photovoltaic system, and energy storage.

Centralized control enables intelligent energy management within the building, enabling optimization of heat pump operation, utilization of surplus energy from the photovoltaic system, and increased self-consumption of energy produced on-site.

The project also aimed to maximize occupant comfort through automatic control of lighting, room temperature, and the operation of the home's technical systems. All installations were designed and installed to allow for full integration and future system expansion.

Solution

Project Description

The project involved the comprehensive installation of technical systems in a modern single-family home. The scope of work included electrical installation, building automation, plumbing, heat pump heating, mechanical ventilation with heat recovery, a photovoltaic system with energy storage, and a lighting system.

The project aimed to create a home in which all systems work together in an intelligent and energy-efficient manner, while ensuring high user comfort.

How were the goals achieved using the Loxone system?

The central element of the project is a Loxone-based automation system that integrates and manages all the key systems in the building. This enabled the creation of a coherent control system encompassing lighting, heating, ventilation, energy production and storage, and security components.

The system is responsible for intelligent energy management in the home – it monitors energy production from the photovoltaic system, manages its consumption, and optimizes the operation of devices such as the heat pump and domestic hot water. This allows for increased self-consumption of energy produced on-site and improved building energy efficiency.

The automation also controls the home's lighting, room temperature, and mechanical ventilation. The project also features the Gerda Tedee PRO smart lock, which enables convenient and secure access management to the building and is integrated with the automation system.

The Loxone system was chosen for its ability to fully integrate multiple technical installations into a single, cohesive control system. This allowed the creation of a solution that not only enhances home comfort but also enables efficient energy management.

A significant advantage of the system is its flexibility and the potential for future expansion. Lighting, heating, ventilation, energy production, and security systems can be integrated into a single environment, allowing for the creation of advanced automation scenarios and the optimization of the entire building.

This resulted in a smart home where all installations work together to ensure a high level of comfort, security, and energy efficiency.
