Challenge
As part of a new school construction project, an optimal ventilation system was implemented to ensure consistently high indoor air quality.
The goal was to replace fixed glazing with motorized windows to enable natural ventilation while adhering to strict safety standards for educational facilities serving children. The solution was seamlessly integrated into the existing building management system.
Particular attention was paid to enhancing safety by eliminating pinch points and sharp edges, ensuring rapid installation to meet tight deadlines, and ensuring compatibility with existing communication protocols.

Solution
The project utilized Schüco motorized windows with drives integrated into the profile, offering maximum safety through built-in detection and finger-protection edges, as well as an elegant appearance with no visible components. The system was complemented by a motorized door with a Gilgen drive, equipped with laser monitoring on both the interior and exterior to meet the highest safety standards.
The integration of the Loxone solution enabled communication with the Schüco window protocol, control and feedback via relays and digital inputs, as well as integration into the MODBUS TCP/IP building management system protocol. This allowed for centralized and automated control of the entire ventilation system.
The result is a quick and smooth commissioning process with user-friendly interfaces between all systems, as well as adherence to tight project deadlines. At the same time, it ensures demand-driven, automatic natural ventilation with improved indoor air quality, maximum safety for children, and an aesthetically fully integrated solution with no exposed hazards.

Thank you for your attention to this project, which has significantly improved the building's air quality. Since the installation of the automatic ventilation systems, the comfort and quality of life in the building have been greatly enhanced.
