Challenge
Like with any tourist apartments, managers encounter some difficulties in terms of energy saving and access control. Loxone was specifically chosen to provide control over both these problem areas, allowing easier access and more energy efficiency.
Solution
Thanks to the Loxone installation, significant energy saving has been seen, and the stress of access control has been greatly reduced.
One example for Loxone automation providing energy savings here: when customers open the balcony doors, the air conditioner is automatically turned off until the doors are closed again to keep unnecessary usage to a minimum.
The Loxone App has been very useful to the guests: they can easily control the temperature of the apartments from a tablet on the wall. The device displays the current room temperature on the screen, and makes it easy to control the target temperature or switch the air conditioning on and off. The app also shows the status of the external outputs and whether they are open or closed.
The success of the initial installation has led to equipping 14 more apartments with Loxone smart solutions in another building, plus an office and the study of two other buildings for the same client.
