What is a smart sauna control system?
A smart sauna control system automates the heating, ventilation and post-use drying of your sauna and automatically turns off the heater when necessary. In addition, LOXONE integrates lighting, shading and music with the sauna and lets you use the app to specify who is allowed to activate these features. When installing the system, be sure to follow the safety and legal regulations in your country.
What sensors does a smart sauna need?
A temperature and humidity sensor designed for temperatures up to 120 °C. It takes measurements directly inside the sauna and provides the data needed for automatic control of the heater and fan.
Can I preheat the sauna remotely?
Yes. You can start the sauna using the app before you get home. By the time you walk in, the target temperature will already have been reached.
What happens if I forget to turn off the sauna?
The safety shutdown automatically stops operation. This happens regardless of whether you’re using the app or not — it always takes effect.
Can a sauna be combined with lighting and music?
Yes. You can control the sauna, lighting, shades and music all from one place using the LOXONE App. A scene turns on the heater, lights and music all at once, instead of having to operate each function separately.
Does the sauna control system work even without an internet connection?
Yes. Heating, the timer and the safety shut-off are controlled locally via the Miniserver. Only remote access via the app requires an internet connection.
Can I disable the sauna feature?
Yes. You can use app permissions to restrict who can view and control the sauna. You can also set up a toggle that completely blocks activation — regardless of whether someone is logged into the app.
