What is Loxone?
Loxone is a complete automation platform that unifies lighting, HVAC, shading, access, security, audio and energy in one system.
At its heart is the Miniserver – a single brain running locally, without recurring license or cloud fees. This means your projects are quicker to deliver, easier to maintain and more profitable to support.
Where does Loxone add the most value?
From private homes and luxury villas to MDUs, offices, hotels and a wide range of commercial projects – including retail, education, healthcare, agriculture and industry. Whatever the project size, Loxone adapts.
With Loxone Air (wireless) technology, you can also bring automation into existing buildings without costly or disruptive rewiring. It’s perfect for renovations, upgrades, or occupied spaces where minimal intervention is key – giving you the same reliability and performance as in a new build.
How does the Loxone system work?
At the heart of every project is the Loxone Miniserver – the central brain that controls all building features. Devices connect via Tree (bus-wired) for fast and structured cabling, or via Air (wireless) for maximum flexibility.
All configuration is stored in one central project file – so changes, updates and maintenance are quick, predictable and transparent.
Loxone combines the best of both worlds (clopen system):
- Tightly integrated core: All-in-one sytsem – the Miniserver with Tree (wired) and Air (wireless) ensures maximum stability and ease of use.

How does Loxone differ from KNX?
Specialist companies and customers often face the question of how the Loxone system differs from a KNX system. First of all, both systems are independent solutions for the automation and control of technical installations in buildings of all types. Thanks to the Loxone KNX Extension, it is also possible to integrate KNX-compatible components into the Loxone universe, enabling cost-effective visualization as well as many automation and logic features.

How secure is Loxone?
Access to smart home solutions that are operated via the cloud is often gained by logging in to the manufacturer’s website. This login can become a central point of attack. In the Loxone system, there is no central node or external point of attack that can be hacked, as login to the Miniserver is done exclusively via the Miniserver itself – and this is located at the customer’s home and does not require an internet connection to perform its tasks.
Every Loxone system is protected by the Miniserver’s security mechanisms, ongoing security updates and general network security (in the hands of the user).
Why should I install smart homes? I don't have any projects for them.

Who can become a Loxone Partner?
If you’re a system integrator or a company with an in-house installation team including electricians, you’re eligible to join. By partnering with Loxone, you gain access to proven technology, training and support that helps you stand out in a competitive market.
How do I join as a Loxone Partner?
The first step is to register in our Partner Portal. In just 2 minutes, you can register online and immediately start shopping as a Registered Loxone Partner.
We’ll guide you through the next steps, provide onboarding resources and help you start leveraging Loxone to expand your project offerings and grow your business.
The next step for becoming a certified Loxone Partner is buying the Welcome Package. The Welcome Package includes a

How long until I'm certified?

We offer hands-on, in-person training at our headquarters in Austria, where you’ll work directly with Loxone products and real-world project scenarios under the guidance of our experts.

How do I maintain my tier and discount level?
Maintaining your partner tier is simple. Attend the yearly training to stay up to date with the latest features and best practices and meet the annual turnover requirements. Staying active ensures you continue to receive the benefits associated with your level and maximize your revenue potential.
The home and building automation market is fast-paced. Loxone is constantly introducing new hardware and software products, enabling the implementation of additional functions. To run a successful business, it is essential to stay up to date. Loxone works with the best to offer customers only the best installation and experience. That is why it is important to us that our Loxone Partners complete training once a year from Silver status onwards. To recertify their partner status, at least one employee of the Loxone Partner must complete training.
Information about the collaboration with Loxone
How are ordering, shipping and delivery handled?
A contract becomes binding either when you receive Loxone’s written order confirmation or when the goods/services are executed. Offers in catalogs or on the website are non-binding until confirmed. Once an order has been confirmed, changes or cancellations are only possible with Loxone’s written approval and may incur handling costs.
Unless otherwise agreed, prices exclude VAT and other costs; transport, packaging, delivery, customs duties and insurance are borne by the customer. The prices valid on the day of the order apply.
Deliveries are made according to the agreed Incoterms. Shipping dates are estimates and may vary depending on stock and production times. Loxone is not liable for delays caused by force majeure or supplier issues.
Payments are typically due in advance unless other arrangements have been agreed. Loxone retains ownership of delivered goods until full payment is made. The customer bears the risk of loss, damage or deterioration in the meantime.

Why doesn't Loxone offer the products via wholesalers?
To ensure fair and transparent pricing, we take an unconventional approach. We deliberately avoid traditional distribution structures, such as sales via wholesalers. You purchase your hardware directly from us as the manufacturer – without intermediaries or middlemen. Through direct purchasing and our direct relationship with you, we can guarantee direct manufacturer support from the source.
Can I use Loxone products in third-party installations or mixed systems?
Yes, Loxone products can be integrated with third-party components as long as they are compatible. However, Loxone assumes no liability for issues caused by non-certified third-party devices or systems.
How do software updates work?
All Loxone software and configuration tools are completely free. Updates are included, so you always have access to the latest features, improvements and security enhancements without any recurring costs.
This allows you to deliver the best solutions to your clients without worrying about additional software fees.
Can Loxone assist with project planning?
Absolutely. Your Partner Coach is available to assist you with project planning when needed. In addition, you’ll also find detailed manuals, wiring diagrams and configuration examples in the Loxone Documentation to guide you through your projects.
Are there any limitations when using Loxone products internationally?
Loxone products comply with EU standards and can be used internationally, but regional power supply, certification, and network regulations must be observed.
What should I do if the Loxone system or the Miniserver fails?
Our products and software tools are designed to perform reliably in continuous 24-hour operation throughout the entire lifetime of a building.
The Miniserver is the central control unit of every Loxone installation. We have therefore paid particular attention to its reliability. The Miniserver has no moving parts, such as fans. In addition, it is extremely energy-efficient, which means that heat generation is not a problem anyway. A failure of the Miniserver is therefore extremely unlikely.
If individual sensors or actuators do fail unexpectedly, this has no effect on the rest of the system.
A Loxone installation can operate entirely without an internet connection if desired. Only individual services, such as remote access via Loxone App, are then unavailable. An internet failure therefore has no effect on the functionality of a Loxone installation.
What warranty or guarantee applies to Loxone products?
Loxone provides a 24-month warranty from the date of delivery, covering material and manufacturing defects. Improper handling, installation errors, or unauthorized modifications void the warranty.
With the development of our in-house technologies, Loxone Tree and Loxone Air, we have pursued a clear goal: to reduce installation costs in residential and commercial properties to a minimum. The big advantage: everything is easily configured via Plug&Play and works together perfectly. We are so confident of this that we offer our partners within the Loxone system a functional guarantee.

Are returns or repairs possible?
If defects occur in delivered goods, defects must be reported to Loxone in writing immediately upon discovery (or at latest within one week of receiving the goods). Warranty claims may expire if defects are not reported in time.
If a Loxone product appears defective during installation, check wiring, configuration and firmware first. If the issue persists, report it immediately via the Loxone Partner Portal or Support Form. You’ll receive detailed instructions for diagnosis, documentation and next steps. Defects must be reported within the warranty period to qualify for replacement or repair.
If you want to return unused or incorrectly ordered products, returns are only accepted after prior approval from Loxone and must be in original packaging and condition. Customized or configured products are excluded from return.
