When starting this project the investor had one intention – to reduce heating costs without pulling cables. The building uses gas boilers as it’s heat source and there are radiators and hot water underfloor heating on the secondary side. As this was a renovation with 4 floors in total, it wasn’t possible to run new cabling to each radiator. Therefore, we decided to utilise the wireless communication of Loxone Air for this project.

To implement this, we created a purely wireless system with an Air Base Extension on each floor, alongside a total of 46 Valve Actuator Air’s installed to control the first 3 floors specifically. Then, the Nano IO Air and Room Comfort Sensor Air were installed on the 4th floor where the hot water underfloor heating is located. This meant that the boiler room, circulation pumps and the collection of important information to help control the water temperature (with full statistics and alerts in case of water leaks or increased temperature) helped add enormous amounts of value to the clinic. In addition to this, we implemented remote access of monitoring the entire building with visualisation of each individual floor to provide a quick and easy overview of all processes for our client via the Loxone App.
