Challenge

The client had a Versoflor pixel LED floor system installed in their garage and wanted it integrated into their existing LOXONE smart home. Versoflor's LED controller has no native compatibility with third-party automation platforms, making integration a technical challenge that had never been attempted before.

Solution

We used a Raspberry Pi running Home Assistant as middleware to bridge the Versoflor LED controller with LOXONE. This allowed full automation of the floor lighting, including an arrival trigger that activates the floor the moment the homeowner's car enters the garage - no app, no switch required. The result is the first smart home in the world to feature Versoflor's pixel LED floor system integrated into LOXONE.

LOXONE was already the heart of this smart home, so the challenge was finding a way to bring the Versoflor LED floor into that ecosystem. With some creative engineering we made it work - and in doing so delivered a world first. That's the kind of problem we love solving.
