City villa - a house with soul

Renovating a city villa requires particular sensitivity: modern technology should offer maximum comfort and security without compromising the existing architecture. In this project, it wasn't possible to replace all the wiring. At the same time, the client wanted a fully centrally controlled system for lighting, shading, climate, audio, and access, reliable monitoring of room temperatures, a decentralized ventilation solution, and intelligent security features – all seamlessly integrated and intuitively operable.

The project was implemented using a customized LOXONE solution, specifically utilizing LOXONE Air to ensure maximum flexibility during the renovation. High-quality, LOXONE compatible luminaires from Molto Luce create atmospheric lighting concepts that automatically adapt to the time of day and usage. Underfloor heating is intelligently controlled room by room, and roller shutters react automatically to the position of the sun and weather conditions, actively contributing to living comfort and energy efficiency.

A central LOXONE audio system creates a consistent, high-quality soundscape throughout the entire living area. Decentralized Leaf fans provide fresh air on demand and a consistently pleasant indoor climate, while continuous temperature monitoring offers added security and transparency. The system is complemented by the integration of a wallbox, enabling convenient and intelligent charging of electric vehicles.

The access control system is also fully integrated into the LOXONE system: Access is managed securely and elegantly via LOXONE Intercom and NFC Code Touch. A particularly convenient feature is the ability to manage tenant access permissions completely independently via the LOXONE app – flexible, time-limited, and adjustable at any time.

A special highlight is the intelligent kitchen automation. The oven is integrated into a lockable kitchen cabinet. If the cabinet door is closed while the oven is still switched on, the system detects the situation. A discreet voice prompt via the audio system informs the user that the oven will switch off automatically if the door remains closed. If the user does not respond, the system takes over automatically – for maximum safety in everyday use.

In addition, a touch surface has been integrated into the kitchen island beneath the worktop. Operation is contactless via the LOXONE touch button standard, with no visible technology on the surface. The frame, precisely milled into the kitchen countertop, allows for intuitive use – even with wet or dirty hands – and combines maximum functionality with elegant understatement.
