Challenge
The Hofstetten brewery is the oldest brewery in Austria and, thanks to Loxone, also the first smart brewery in Austria. In addition to lighting control, temperature monitoring and control, as well as various safety functions, also played an important role in this project. Furthermore, it should be possible to react quickly, especially in the event of a malfunction.
Solution
Since 2016, LED lighting has ensured a pleasant working day in the brewery. The light scenes can be changed individually, so it is possible to quickly fall back on effect lighting for guided tours. From dusk onwards, the outdoor lighting sets the scene for the traditional Smart Brewery during the evening hours. Later, it spotlights the way for the hosts. The presence-controlled lighting offers great potential in the area of energy savings. Especially important for the brewery is a constant room temperature, this is constantly monitored with Loxone. In case of malfunctions, an alarm chain is triggered and the managing director, brewmaster and brewers are notified.
The beauty of the Loxone system is that it is flexible. We still have many plans that we would like to realize in the next few years. With Loxone, we are also prepared for the future, for example, to implement an intelligent wastewater treatment plant that precisely controls the amount of wastewater, or to implement a PV system that produces the most electricity exactly when we are also at peak times in our brewery.
