Smart Home Minerva

Challenge

This project from Spain is the epitome of a Loxone Real Smart Home. Loxone Tree products were used throughout the project, as this ensured a simple wiring and installation process. For the homeowners, the issue of security was crucial. For example, the smart door handles detect whether the door is currently open or closed. The balcony door in the children's room is also constantly monitored in this way. Also important to mention is storm protection, whereby the system automatically moves the exterior blinds to the safety position to prevent damage to the shades. In addition to access, the built-in touch surface in each room also automatically runs the lighting and sound system.

Solution

To prevent the living area from becoming too warm in summer, the shading is automatically lowered and the slats - depending on the position of the sun - are aligned. The house has several protection mechanisms (motion detectors, window and door contacts, door handles). This means that intruders are detected around the clock, even when the residents are not at home. The fire and water alarm also helps to warn residents quickly and reliably in an emergency. The Loxone intercom also delivers remarkable convenience. When the intercom is pressed, they can see who is at the door in the Loxone app. The intercom also documents who was at the door with a photo when the doorbell is missed.

In the beginning, you still want to do things like drive the shading yourself. Gradually, however, you learn that the house does everything on its own from now on. In the end, you completely forget about it without giving it a second thought. You see how the blinds adjust to the time of day, or how the lights are regulated without you even having to turn a switch. You can't imagine how practical and convenient all these things are until you experience them for yourself.
