Smart Home complete solution

The challenge was to fully automate a single-family home, integrating various systems and technologies and enabling seamless control via a single user interface. A multitude of components had to be connected, including a KNX-based switching system, two Loxone Miniservers, the ventilation system, heat pump, air conditioning systems, heating control, and a complex energy management system that encompasses PV generation, battery storage, and a wallbox. Security features such as an alarm system, door and window contacts, and a water detector for preventative damage detection also had to be integrated. The goal was to create a user-friendly and energy-efficient solution that simultaneously controls all relevant systems.

The project was successfully implemented using a Loxone Miniserver Compact and an existing Miniserver from 2014. The KNX-based switch control system was enhanced with Loxone to enable simple operation via the app. All systems – ventilation system, heat pump, air conditioning, heating control, and complex energy management – were integrated into a central control system. By connecting the PV system, battery storage, and wallbox, energy efficiency was maximized. An alarm system with door and window contacts and a water detector to prevent damage were also implemented. Finally, the loudspeaker system was integrated to increase comfort and enable even more personalized control.
