Self-service car centre in Graschach

Challenge

The goal of the project was to establish networking between various systems. The primary focus were the portal car wash, the self-service car wash and the gas pumps. Through Loxone, numerous functions were integrated: the scope involved lighting, heating, ventilation, leakage warning, electric windows and access control.

Simple and smooth operation from a distance was also one of the base requirements for the Graschach project, and was implemented accordingly. Having an alarm with immediate effect was also important for the self-service centre operators, allowing them to alert others in the event of a malfunction, which was successfully achieved through the integrated alarm system from Loxone.

Solution

The ceiling lights in the day room of the self-service centre in Graschach are equipped with a presence detector, which signals movements. It tells the luminaires to act autonomously and display the predefined lighting moods. The luminaires of the entire outdoor area are also connected to the Miniserver, meaning that the self-service car wash or the vacuum cleaners can be used at any time during day and night. The general lighting of the gas station is linked to the operating hours, while the outdoor lighting is activated when lane movements are detected.

A rain sensor has been installed to control the windows, which provides accurate weather data. In addition, the analog input of the wind speed is used to prevent possible storm damage and to close the windows to prevent accidents. With the help of a timer, the windows open automatically at regular intervals for ventilation. Both the windows and the doors are centrally integrated into the Loxone alarm system and therefore can be monitored permanently and fully automatically. The doors are controlled using the NFC Code Touch or according to the operating times.

Several functions of the Loxone system were used for the portal washing area. On one hand, a switch-on delay is used to check whether the vehicle is in position. The temperature in the car wash is controlled by an intelligent room control setup, to which the fan heater is also linked. After the wash cycle is completed, the doors open automatically. An alarm is also linked to the self-service car wash, which activates a switch-off delay and immediately reports any malfunctions.

It was important to us to be able to automate the entire site, so that the on-site personnel requirements are kept to a minimum and are time-independent. We succeeded perfectly in combination with Loxone.
